We always get asked "DOES YOUR TALLOW HAVE AN ODOR?"
NO! We use the wet rendering method for making our tallow. It does take a longer time to purify the tallow but it is the best method (in our opinion) to render tallow for cooking or making soap, tallow balm, or candles with no beef smell.
What I really like about this method is that it isn't technically a refining process. None of the nutrients or beneficial properties of the tallow are altered, as they would be in refined and deodorized tallow that is available commercially. DOES TALLOW HAVE A "GREASY" FEELING?
I get asked all the time from customers if our Tallow gives a greasy feeling when applied. That "greasy" feeling is just excess moisture on top of your skin. Our skin can only absorb so much moisture at any given time. Animal fats such as Tallow have contain a lot of moisture and when applied to your skin, your skin can not absorb all the moisture immediately from the tallow so it sits on top your skin causing that "Greasy feeling" that goes away over time as your skin can absorb all the moisture in the Tallow.
